The second is convention hospitality: CES in January and SEMA in November are the inventory crunch of the year, absorbing much of the available fleet in town, and many Strip venues carry size limits that push larger coaches off-site with a shuttle plan. The third is Burning Man at Black Rock City, which isn't a standard delivery at all — playa access is restricted and everything on it has to be self-sufficient, so dust protection, water and waste capacity, and independent power are the whole job. Las Vegas Motor Speedway does not publish which of its lots have hookups
LVMS names four RV lots, The Strip, Inner Circle, Motorhome Hill and Vegas Veranda, and states there are "Multiple site sizes, ranging from 20'x40' to 25'X60'" with "Full-hookups and dry camping available." It does not say which lots are which.
What to do about it
Ask the Speedway which lot your booking is in and whether that lot is full-hookup or dry before choosing a unit, because that answer decides whether you are specifying for shore power or for generator hours and fuel.
What it costs if you don't
A coach specced for hookups and assigned to dry camping runs its generator all week, and the reverse wastes a connection you are parked beside.
In the Nevada desert there is nowhere to dump
Burning Man, on Bureau of Land Management land in Nevada, states that "There is no dumping station on site, and you will not be allowed to dump on the playa," and that "The BLM does issue citations for the dumping of gray or black water." On-playa servicing is priced at $50 for trailers up to 24 feet and $60 for one gray and one black tank on RVs 25 to 35 feet, with nothing published above 35 feet.
What to do about it
Treat waste as a scheduled, paid service and size tanks against the full length of the stay. For a unit over 35 feet, confirm the servicing position before booking, since the published brackets stop there.
What it costs if you don't
Dumping to solve a full tank is a federal citation rather than a fine from an organiser, and the alternative on a nine-day event is a tank you cannot empty.
Every RV is inspected before it reaches its lot at LVMS
LVMS states: "Upon arrival at LVMS, campers will go directly to the RV Check-In located at Entry 7 on Las Vegas Blvd. Once your passes have been picked up and your RV has been inspected, you will head to your RV lot." It also permits only "Fully enclosed UL Listed cooking pits/outdoor fire pits" and states "NO OPEN FIRES and/or barrel fires are permitted."
What to do about it
Route the driver specifically to Entry 7 on Las Vegas Boulevard and allow time for pass collection and inspection. Pack a fully enclosed, UL Listed fire pit rather than an open one.
What it costs if you don't
A driver sent to the nearest gate circles a very large site on the busiest arrival day, and an open pit or barrel fire is refused at a track that states the rule plainly.
