How many people does an Indy 500 RV pass actually cover?

An Indianapolis Motor Speedway RV Pass covers a 20 by 40 foot spot and comes with six wristbands. A Tent Pass covers a 20 by 20 foot spot and comes with four. Additional wristbands are available up to ten per passholder, from the ticket office or the lot entrance between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. The wristband requirement applies only in Lot 1A and Lot 1C on May 21, 22, 23 and 24.

What to do about it

Count your group against wristbands rather than against beds. A coach that sleeps eight arrives with six wristbands, so two more have to be bought, and they can only be bought during the 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. window. Ten per passholder is the ceiling, so a party of eleven needs a second pass.

What it costs if you don't

Two people in your group without wristbands on the four days the requirement is active, discovered at the lot entrance after 6 p.m. when the desk that sells them has closed.

Is there a curfew in the Indy 500 campgrounds?

What to do about it

Bring an elevated fire pit with legs. The common move of digging a shallow pit is prohibited outright, so a fire ring intended to sit on the ground does not comply even though fires themselves are allowed.

A fire you have to put out on arrival, and a hole you were not permitted to dig.
